Furniture Design Award 2014 calls for submissions

Riaz Ahmed, Sweet Dreams’ founder and MD, says: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted and carried off an award. We’ve made considerable investment in our operation here in Burnley, both over the last quarter-century and in the last 18 months. Recently we’ve spent £620,000 on new plant and machinery, including £370,000 on new spring machinery, and of course the £2m investment in the 56,000 sqft new build, which is now complete – we hope to welcome our first visitors later this year.”

The highly anticipated annual Furniture Design Award (FDA), organised by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC), is seeking for submission entries for FDA 2014. ekonglong office divider producer

FDA is an annual furniture design competition which seeks to uncover the best design talents, both locally and internationally. Apart from providing an avenue for designers to express their creativity, the FDA can also act as a springboard for future career opportunities within the design industry.

This year, in a bid to take the challenge up a notch, the organisers have introduced a free style theme where designers are welcome to explore their imagination and demonstrate their originality through this open call for submissions. Winning entries will be showcased and presented at SingaPlural 2014, held in conjunction with International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS) 2014/ 31st ASEAN Furniture Show, The Décor Show 2014 and The Hospitality 360⁰.
