Between May 18-21, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) affirmed its role as North America’s centre for contemporary design. In a 12% rise from last year, 29,642 of the world’s leading innovators, educators and manufacturers flocked to Jacob K Javits Convention Centre in New York.
Maintaining a strong global outreach, ICFF’s 570 exhibitors represented an impressive 31 countries.
“The extent of the show’s global reach was stellar,” says Alexandra Cabat, ICFF sales director. “There were 230 first-timers on the show floor, plus an entirely new category of exhibitors – the fabricators. Leading industry manufacturers from around the world stood side by side with start-ups, and established designers with emerging designers.
“Material Makers, a premiering special feature that demonstrated design’s power tools of innovation – idea, material, and production technology – in action, in real time, added another dimension to the mix on the show floor. As did ICFF Studio, the platform that matches select emerging designers and their prototype products with potential manufacturers, presented by the ICFF with Bernhardt Design.”
